Projects
The ability to manage golf course improvement projects is an important role of the superintendent. The golf course is an ever-changing environment and requires constant review and adjustment to maintain proper conditions.
I have had the opportunity to be associated with several renovations, and many smaller in-house projects as well. My wide range of experience in course construction gives me the confidence required to lead a club through any project they wish to complete successfully.

Featured Work
CART PATH RESURFACING - WEIBRING GC
In spring of 2024, we worked with a local asphalt contractor to assess, replace, and repair sections of cart path subgrade and remove unnecessary or excessive sections of cart paths. Once the repairs and removal process was complete, we overlaid the entirety of our cart paths with 1.5" of fresh asphalt.
TEE RENOVATION - ILLINI CC
During the 2021 and 2022 golf seasons at Illini Country Club we have been adding forward tees to select holes to improve the playing experience for our members. In addition to adding new tees, we are also re-leveling, realigning, and resurfacing many of our existing tee boxes to newer bentgrass varieties that offer improved divot recovery, higher wear tolerance, and increased disease resistance.
DRAINAGE / IRRIGATION - MT. HAWLEY CC
The pond adjacent to the 11th green was backfilling our greens drainage cavity causing the sub soil to remain saturated at all times. We exposed our two outfall drainage pipes coming out of the green and dug a 100 ft trench beside the green allowing us to install a new 4 inch drainage line connecting the back and front outfall pipes together no longer allowing water to backflow into the greens drainage. The new drainage line connected into a basin to the right of the approach, where we installed an IDP (Irrigation Driven Pump) to discharge the water into the pond, which allowed the pond level to remain the same and not affect the soil moisture of the greens cavity.
GREENS RENOVATION - TPC SAWGRASS
After the 2016 PLAYERS the greens were cored out. New drain and sub-air lines were installed along with a new 4”gravel layer and USGA greens mix. After the greens were cored out, rebuilt to USGA specifications, and received their final contouring and grading they were grown in with TifEagle sprigs.
Additionally, a handful of the pond banks throughout the golf course had been compromised due to washouts and erosion. The pond water was pumped out and the banks were regraded using a mini ex and skid steer to offer a more natural flowing look. After the grading process was complete, netting was stapled down to help hold the soil in place and the banks were sodded. The netting allowed for root growth into the soil.
TEE CONSTRUCTION - CHICAGO GOLF CLUB
During the summer of 2017 at Chicago Golf Club we constructed two new tee boxes for the inaugural 2018 U.S. Senior Women’s Open.
